For Existing Documents
1. If the document you need translated is a standard form or letter that is used every year, look for such document in this web page. Maybe you just need to change the date or a name on it and not have to translate the complete document again.
2. The folders on the left margin are organized by department or organizations within LISD. If you can’t find the document or need proofreading or updating, call your District Translator at extension 12309. If the need arise for any language other than Spanish, such documents translated into other languages will reside in the same root directory.
For New Documents
1. If you need translation for a new document, fill out an online Request for Translation or Interpretation Service on this web page.
This form will help us track all documents to be translated and will also be used to pay for outsource service.
2. The online request will be sent automatically to the District Translator. Remember to fill out all the fields that apply to your job request. This form will be matched with the outside service time sheets.
3. If you have a favorite translator, go ahead and call him or her, but you still have to fill out the form to keep track of their work.
For Meeting Interpretation
1. If you need an interpreter for a meeting, fill out an online Request for Translation or Interpretation Service on this web page. This form will help us track all meeting interpretations and will also be used to pay for outsource service.
2. The online request will be sent automatically to the District Translator the same day you call for a request. Do not wait until the day of the meeting to fill out the form. Remember to fill out all the fields that apply to your job request. This form will be matched with the outside service time sheets.
Make sure you send the request for interpretation at least one week in advanced so we can coordinate the best possible resource for you.
3. If you have a favorite interpreter, go ahead and call him or her, but you still have to fill out the form to keep track of their work.
Meeting Cancellation
Please, call at least 24 hours in advanced to cancel a meeting. Special Programs pays for all translation and interpretation charges, even when parents or district staff do not show up for the meeting.
