Success Comes in I Cans! Failure Comes in I Can
Howdy
Howdy, and welcome to Third Grade! I’m excited about the opportunity to get to know my students, as well as their families, and am looking forward to a happy and productive school year.
A little about myself: I am the wife of a wonderful Williamson County Sheriff’s Deputy, am the mother of six beautiful children (four boys & two girls), and am a graduate of Texas A&M University. I currently hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, and will complete my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction by December of this year.
Our Third Grade Team is currently in the process of scheduling an informational open house, as a supplement to the school-wide open house, which is specifically geared toward answering any questions you may have regarding curriculum, classroom & homework policies, daily schedules, upcoming events, etc.
I would like to stress the fact that you are welcome in the classroom on an announced basis, due to possible scheduling conflicts, as studies clearly indicate that parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement. Myself, as well as, all of our school staff hope you will make it a priority this year to attend as many school-sponsored events as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns, or if you would like to visit our classroom, schedule a conference, or volunteer to help out, you can contact me via phone at: (512) 434-5300, or via e-mail:andrea.pearson@leanderisd.org. The best times to reach me are between 9:40 and 10:30 AM and 3:00-4:00PM.

Once again, welcome to Mrs. Pearson’s Third Grade Family; let’s work together to make this the best year ever!
RESPONSIBILITY
Responsibility is a huge journey for your student to embark upon, however; this is the time for all of your love and support to start paying off, as you watch your third grader blossom into a proud and intrinsically motivated young student. It is vital at this juncture in the school year for families to support their third graders by acting as both coach and cheerleader. There is nothing more dynamic than to watch a child find his or her own way. I believe, though it is truly one of the most difficult things we will do as parents, that it is important for us to allow our kids to come into their own. I am so privileged to be able to see my students stand a little bit taller, to smile a little bit bigger, to answer with a bit more confidence, as they begin to realize just how much they are truly capable of accomplishing on their own.

We are still working dilegently on our Third Grade Growth
I would like to thank each and every one of you for the continued assistance, the gifts during the holidays, and the support you offer your students. I am calling on you once again to help in reminding our kiddos that the school year has not yet drawn to a close, and that it is more important than ever to put their best foot forward, as they are just weeks away from becoming full-fledged 4th graders. The math TAKS is no less important than the reading TAKS, and I feel that it is vital to stress this point to our students. Though these tests are not used as the sole gage of our student’s growth, they are a fraction of the assessment process. Each form of assessment offers another piece of the puzzle in where each child stands on the continuum. I am also asking for any parent who would like to donate an hour of their time once a week between now and the TAKS test date in guiding our students through the problem-solving process in conjunction with myself. Your time will allow me more concentrated effort with individual students.

Thank You Once Again!!!!

Have a blessed day,

Mrs. Pearson
