Each Monday afternoon students will be sent home with a packet of homework, that packet of homework will then be due that Friday. After the pre-test on Monday your student will be assigned either Word List 1 or 2 for the test on Friday, please aid your child in preparing for this test. The Third Grade Team is asking that you encourage your student to not only complete 60 minutes of reading over the course of the week, but that you also help to build their intrinsic motivation to read at greater lengths.


As of January your kiddo will be given the packet for the book report that will be completed over the course of the month; please ask your student to share with you what is required, and feel free to act as a "coach" on their behalf. *Keep in mind that years of research have proven that parental support can raise a child's educational achievement a great deal.

I am pleased to see that most everyone is making an effort to get their homework completed in a timely fashion. Remember that students should be reading at least sixty minutes per week; I know that this is a huge request, however; enough can not be said about the positive results of reading.
