Hi! My name is Andrea Word and this is my eighteenth year at Cypress Elementary and I am looking forward to yet another great year. I will be team teaching with Mrs. Kosiewicz. She will teach science/math and I will teach social studies/language arts. In my class we will be enjoying many different styles of literature this year and improving our writing as we use what we learn from these authors. In social studies, we will learn a great deal about communities, both past and present, and the important contributions people have made within them. I am looking forward to having a part in each child's learning.

I graduated from the University of Texas in 1976 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I have two grown sons, Ryan and Neil, a wonderful daughter-in-law, Amy, and a beautiful granddaughter, Taryn, who will be 5 years old next April. Another grandchild will be coming in March and I am very excited. All make me very proud. In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing the piano, gardening and of course, teaching. It is the best job in the world!
