Saving Graphics from the Web
To save a graphic from the web:
1. Click on the graphic while holding down the control key.
2. Select "Save image to Disk" when the dialogue box appears.
3. Select a location to save the graphic.
4. You may need to rename the graphic with a name that you will recall (some web graphics are not easily recognizable by their names).
5. Make sure that you leave the .jpg or .gif extension on the name of the graphic when you are saving it.
Inserting Graphics into a Document
Graphics may be inserted into most word processing or multimedia applications.

Microsoft Office Applications:
1. Launch the application
2. On the menu, select insert and select picture from file.
3. Locate the graphic that was saved from the web and select/insert.
4. When the graphic appears on the page, double click on the graphic to launch the "Format Picture" dialogue box.
5. Select Layout and then choose "square" or "tight."
6. This will allow you to move the picture around the page.
7. To resize the graphic, click on the graphic and then grab one of the "handles" on the picture to resize. To resize proportionately, grab the "handle" in the corner and stretch diagonally.
Giving Credit
Guidelines for citing Internet resources are fairly new and are continually being revised. This site has kid-friendly examples for even the youngest.
