Hello! I’m Beth Dees and I teach Geometry and Pre-AP Geometry. I have taught in the Leander School District since 1999. This is actually my third career. Before I taught, I was a stay at home mom for 10 years raising my three children who have all been exclusively educated in the Leander District. Before I had children, I worked as a CPA for an oil & gas company in East Texas. I graduated from Texas A & M University in 1983 with honors and a degree in accounting. I am a native Texan married to my high school sweetheart. I am a huge believer in volunteering and am highly involved in my children’s activities.
My passions have always been math and working with young people. Teaching math allows me to do both.
I believe that students learn and retain math best when they discover mathematical concepts themselves. I teach math in problem-based, hands-on contexts in order to make their learning more meaningful.
I am very excited about this school year and the discoveries we will achieve.
