I am a fourth grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. I graduated from the University of Texas Austin, and have 6 years of teaching experience.
My mom is also a teacher, and she lives in Kingsville, Texas, where I grew up. She teaches 3rd Grade at a little school on the King Ranch.
I live in Cedar Park with my husband, twin daughters and yellow lab, Monty. My daughters, Rose & Anna, are in first grade here at Whitestone Elementary.
This is a picture of me with Rose & Anna last summer in Estes Park, Colorado. My husband's parents live in Colorado Springs and we always enjoy visiting them in the summer.
In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, and scrapbooking all the pictures I take of Rose & Anna.
I especially love children's literature and collect children's books. (In fact, I read A LOT more children's books than grown-up books!)
One of my favorite things to do is to meet authors when they come to Austin. Many of my children's books are signed by the authors who wrote them! Some of my favorite authors are Particia Polacco, Brian Selznick, Kate DiCamillo, Chris Van Allsburg, Avi, Deborah Wiles, Rick Riordan, Sharon Creech,...just to name a few!
So if you're going to be in my class, get ready to read some of the best books around!!!
