Dear Families & Friends:

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to Block House Creek Elementary and fourth grade! I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your child filled with new experiences and fascinating discoveries. I will be teaching all content areas, which include: language arts, social studies, math, and science.

Just to let you know a little about myself…I received my B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies and Psychology from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. I went on to gain a teaching certification in Early Childhood through fourth grade. After certification completion, I continued my education and earned my Masters of Education in Language and Literacy. I hope to become a Master Reading Teacher and Reading Specialist in the near future. Shortly after graduating my husband, Ben, and our two dogs, Heidi and Henry, purchased our first home in Block House and moved to Leander, Texas. We are enjoying every part of the friendly, family-focused neighborhood and all the joys and trials of being homeowners. Most recently, we have added a new addition to our family...we welcomed Hannah into our family this summer...our new Golden Retriever has brought a lot of excitement to our lives.

As part of my third year in Leander Independent School District and Block House Creek Elementary, I hope to create a safe and positive learning environment where your child can be nourished in knowledge and flourish in understanding. I will provide, to the best of my ability, the tools he/she will need to ensure success in future grades and in life. In order for me to accomplish these goals a consistent communication between home and school will be crucial. I have a scheduled conference time on Tuesday and Thursday between 8:25 and 9:15. I am also available most afternoons after school. I am here for your child, so please contact me anytime with any concerns, thoughts, or wonderings.

I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher and guide through this fourth grade year! I value your input and look forward to working with you as a team to provide the best learning opportunities for your child.
