We are very excited to welcome Michael Floyd, the new Color Guard Director for Cedar Park Middle School. Mr. Floyd will be in charge of choreography and the day-to-day teaching of the guard class. Mr. Floyd will also be directing the Cedar Park HS Guard and new Canyon Ridge MS Guard.

Michael Floyd is originally from Greenville, SC where he attended Wade Hampton High School. While in high school, he began his color guard endeavors by joining Infiniti winter guard and becoming a marching member of Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. After two years with Crown, Michael proceeded to march the next four years with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Michael also marched with The Study winter guard and Pride of Cincinnati. After his many winter guard experiences, Michael auditioned for Blast!, where he became a cast member. After spending almost two years touring, he became the caption head of Capital Regiment, which then opened the door for him to work with Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. Michael has been there for the last three years.

This year I will be the sponsor of the CPMS Guard program. I will be in charge of budget, transportation, and other administrative duties.

My name is Cody Edwards and this is my sixth year teaching seventh grade language arts and my fifth year teaching the color guard here at Cedar Park Middle School. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English with an emphasis in American Literature from Texas A&M University - Commerce. Prior to teaching, I toured the United States and Canada performing professionally with band and color guard. I continue to travel extensively as a consultant for scholastic and independent guard and band programs.
