My name is Debbie Wieland and this is my seventh year of teaching. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from John Jay High School. I completed my college education at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. I earned a BS in Family and Consumer Sciences with a certification in Vocational Education in 1985.

After graduating from SWT I began a career with HEB Grocery Company. I completed the Store Management Trainee program and worked in store management positions in the Austin area for five years. After that, I became a Human Resource manager for HEB.

I served as an HR manager at HEB for five years prior to teaching. My responsibilities as an HR manager included, employee relations, partner training and development, manager training and development, management recruitment and benefits administration. I was the facilitator of the employee management training program during my last two years as an HR manager.

I resigned from my position at HEB to be able to spend more time with my family during the summer and holidays. I have enjoyed teaching and have received many personal rewards.

In addition to teaching Career Studies, Business Management and Hotel Management, I am the Student Council Faculty sponsor at Cedar Park High school. Outside of school I am a Girl Scout Leader. When I have time for hobbies, my hobbies include sewing, scrap booking, crafts and reading,.
