My name is Emily Riordan and I am the new addition to Naumann's fourth grade team. Our class will cover all subject areas and we'll be doing lots of fun activities this year.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with my B.A. in English a few years ago. I was also recently awarded my Master of Education from Texas State this summer. Although this is my first classroom teaching experience, I have worked in Special Ed. for 2 years and was the long term substitute for Lisa Powell in ESL here at Naumann.
Having grown up not very far Naumann, I have seen this area grow and develop in astounding ways. My family still lives in the area and when I am not in the classroom, I am usually found spending time with them.
Fourth grade is an exciting time in the life of children and I am excited that I get to be part of that time. While this is a year for students to learn more responsibility I understand it is my job to guide them to that goal. We will be working hard during the school year. I will strive to instill a lifelong love of learning as well as knowledge and skills in every student by providing him or her the tools needed learn and grow as individuals and as part of a society.
I am looking forward to working with you and your child to make fourth grade a fantastic year. My door is always open if you would like to volunteer. Should you wish to discuss any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me through email or you may call the school to leave me a message in order to set up a meeting time.
