My name is Mrs. Cassity. I am thrilled to be a founding member of River Place Elementary. I know that as a team we will make this one of the best learning communities in the nation.

This year marks my seventh year in education. I have my degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Texas Austin- Hook 'Em! I started my career teaching kindergarten in Round Rock ISD. I taught kinder for 2 years, 2nd for 1 year, 1st/2nd small groups for two years, and now am thrilled to be Leander teaching kindergarten again. This will mark my second year in the district.
On a personal note, I am a native to Austin. I graduated from Westlake High School then went straight on to UT. I am a big UT fan, as is most of my family. I have been married for four years. My husband Scott is an architect. We have a two and a half year old son, Cade, who is the light of our lives. We also have 3 four legged babies (cats) that are also pretty wonderful! I enjoy baking, movies, and reading whenever I get free time!

I believe kindergarten is one of the best years for children. There is so much learning going on, but we make it has fun and hands on as possible. I know working together as a team (student, parent, and teacher) we will make this a fantastic first year of school!
