Hello Parents,
It was so good to see so many of you at out Open House. I appreciate your time. If you did not receive a yellow parent packet please let me know I will get you one quickly. Please allow students to bring in a large size cereal box or magazine holder(large enough to fit 4-6 books). These will be used for "Just Right Fit Book" for students to read during DEAR time. (Drop Everything And Read) Please have this sent in by September 21st. If you would like to "Lend a Helping Hand" below are items we need in the classroom:

Social studies and Language
This week we are learning about communities and how we can be involved in our community. We will be reviewing our social contract and mission statements. We will be connecting this to our state and countries laws. As this week is constitution week we will be working on understanding this.
Math
We will be learning about number grids, equivalent names, and number patterns.
Remember to practice skip counting( beyond 100 and from the middle example: skip count by 5's from 185 to 250. Skip count backwards by 2's from 80. Also please allow students to bring in some coins that can be used to practice counting money. We will use this money for a party at the end of the year.

Bring in your flashlight for Friday flashlight reading.
