Ready, Set, Teach! 2 is a unique opportunity for students to spend time in an elementary or middle school classroom gaining teaching experience. Student responsibilities include personal transportation to and from the assigned school, purchase of a polo shirt to wear to the schools and completion of online assignments. This class is very similar to the student teaching experience students would have at a university. Responsibility and professionalism are necessary for students to be successful in this course.

Your second assignment is observe and describe the multiple intelligences and learning styles in your classroom. Refer to your notes on Multiple Intelligences and Learning Styles(VAKT) to refresh your memory. Describe some of the different learning styles and intelligences you have observed in the students (describe at least 5). How does the teacher plan/create lessons that fit the learning styles of the students in the class? Give examples of activities used.

For your fourth assignment you will be focusing on exceptional or special needs students in your classroom. Describe in detail exceptional students in your classes. Be sure to describe both gifted and challenged students. What does the teacher do to accommodate their needs? What have you done to work with these students? What could be done that you haven’t yet seen?
