Process
1. First, you will be assigned to a team and then to a component of our terrariums to research.

2. Next, your team will use the internet, books, encyclopedias, and your own observations to research your component. Fill out the Research Worksheet (Documents Page) to help you organize your information.

3. Here are some links to help you find information about your component. Use these links to fill out the Research Worksheet. Click on the first link to view it and decide if there is any information that could go on the Research Sheet. Then, click on the second link and skim it to see if it has any information you can add.
Earthworms
Snails
Pillbugs
Soil
Plants
Sunlight
4. Now that you have all your information and have formed an opinion about your component, you must organize it into a presentation. You may use any of the following to present your information:
a. A poster
b. Power Point
c. A pamphlet/brochure
d. A flyer
e. A puppet show
f. A protest
g. An idea of your choice (must be approved by the teacher)

5. Your presentation and visual product must include the following:
a. General information about your component.
b. Why your component is helpful or harmful to the earth.
c. Why we should save your component or eliminate it.
d. What would happen to the earth if it were gone.

6. Remember, you must persuade the world to either save or eliminate your component. Practice your presentation. Always face the audience and make eye contact with them. Use a clear, loud voice and make it interesting!

7. When you have completed your presentation, fill out a Self-Evaluation Sheet (Documents Page).

8. When you’re finished, hand in all your work for evaluation.
