Table Switcheroo
By Emma E., Greyson and Chad
At lunch, 2 of the tables are for the trays and 2 tables are for the lunch boxes. Conner is on the tray side. Some people are on the other side because Conner is allergic to peanut butter. We take care of him and keep him safe by not getting peanut butter by him.
The Golden Eggs
By Liam, Ilana and Paige
We have six golden eggs! We earned them by doing something good—the whole class! We need six more golden eggs to get twelve golden eggs. We get a reword. The eggs are squishy. We put them in a carton. I can’t wait to get a reward. It will be fun to get a reward. We keep the eggs that we have not earned in a glass.
Writing Workshop
By Madison and Meg
During Writing Workshop, we wrote fun stories. Meg’s title was Big Fat Bully. Madison’s title was If I Discovered a Secret Island. It was so much fun! We got to pick what we wanted to write about. Whatever crazy, fun, wacky thing! The first time we did it, we sat in a circle and we listened to everybody’s first fun sentence. Then the second time we did it, we listened to Conner’s story. Then, the next time we listened to Max’s story. Conner’s title was The War. Max’s title was Lilly Goes to the Movies. It was so much fun listening to their stories. We wonder if next time it will be one of our turns. We enjoy doing writing workshop. We hope you enjoyed our article because we like it and we worked really hard on it! We really hope we did a great job!
Daily 5 Workshop
By Conner and Ashlyn
During Daily 5 Workshop, we can write about things that we know. We can do “Work on Words.” We go on to a magazine to cut out words or pictures with special sounds. We read. We do all of these things to be better readers.
Pep Rally
By Maddie, Dylan and Gracie
The Vista Ridge High School cheerleaders came over to come to teach us our school song. We learned our school cheer! 5th graders are helpers. We introduced Mrs. Slaughter. We had fun. We took a class picture!
Theater Arts
By Eralp and Tori
In theater arts, we made masks. They were so cool. We use them on stage.
Fun Friday in P.E.
By Gillian and Kiara
We did Frisbee discs, buckets, hula-hoops, foxtails, bouncy balls, scooters, basketballs, warm-ups, windmills, jumping jacks and nose-touch-knees. We did zig zags around the cones.
Air and Water
By Emma S., Blake and Max
We crumpled paper towels and put them at the bottom of the vials. Then we flipped the vial upside down without a top and put it in the tub of water. When we took the vial out, the paper towel was still dry. This is how it happened: We stuck it to where it would not fall out. Then, when we put it in the tub of water, we caught air in it and the air took up room so the water could not get it!
