Welcome to the frog class. I am excited about the 2007-2008 school year!
I would like to tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Houston, Texas but have always loved the Austin area. My family vacationed here all of my childhood. A few years ago when I had the opportunity to go anywhere I wanted, I chose Austin. I am happy to be here.
After attending High School in Houston, I went to Texas A&M University where I received a Bachelors Degree in Education. I student taught a Kindergarten class in The Woodlands (on the north side of Houston). To my delight, I was hired to teach Kindergarten at the same school where I student taught .
After one year in The Woodlands, I moved to Greenville, Texas. I lived in Greenville for nine years, where I enjoyed teaching second grade. While I was there, I attended night classes at East Texas State University and received a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.
When I came to Austin, I taught first grade at Cypress Elementary and found out that I love teaching both first and second grade. Second grade is a fun and challenging year in the life of a child. I truly enjoy helping the students in my class to improve in their reading, writing, and math skills, and to become more and more independent.
This is a very important year for a child. I feel honored to be able to lead my class though it.
