Dear Parents,

I am very excited to begin another year at Knowles Elementary School. This year, students will discover new ideas, skills, materials, artists, and artwork that will help them to create their very own masterpieces.

The work of every student will be displayed in school. In addition, your student(s) will have opportunities to have their work displayed in our online gallery (classroom.leanderisd.org/webs/kallie%5Fthornberry/).

Parents, do you know of a local business or organization that needs some amazing art work? Perhaps you know a creative professional who might be interested in sharing their story with students? If so, please contact me!

We want to make our art program at Knowles a huge success, and order to do so we are requesting a few supplies to help us meet our needs:
-Paper towels
-Newspaper
-Old aprons
-ANY extra art supplies (brushes, paint, cloth, buttons, etc)
-Slim glue sticks
-Paper towel and toilet paper rolls
Any donations are GREATLY appreciated!

Lastly, your time is another valuable donation. We can always use volunteers around 2nd and 4th grade art nights, during winter decoration set-up, and during school play set up. Dates for these events will be given to homeroom teachers.
