Welcome to an exciting year in first grade at Rutledge Elementary School! I am looking forward to working with your child as he/she continuously improves academically, emotionally, and socially in first grade.
I received my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University in 2007. I taught first grade last semester and absolutely love this wonderful grade. I am very passionate about teaching and therefore enjoy every day I get with my students.
During the school year we will be doing many exciting activities. We have guided reading groups and shared reading. We teach Math and Hands on Science. I love books and reading so I make sure to provide many reading and writing opportunities for every student. We will focus on several social skills and what it takes to be an important part of our classroom community.
I feel very fortunate to be a part of a wonderful and honorable profession and I look forward to a great year with your child!
