Our children are our future!
Kim Mclaughlin
My passion for teaching continues to bring me back to the classroom after 11 years of teaching. I have two wonderful (and very energetic) boys, ages eight and five and a fabulous husband who keeps himself busy chasing the boys and our two dogs. Having lived in Cedar Park for the past 12 years, my family and I have had the pleasure of watching enormous growth in our community. With change comes improvement. Fourth Grade will certainly bring growth and change for your child as well. Through guidance and team work, we can help each of your children acheive their best academically, socially and emotionally by setting high standards and still have a fun year!
I received my BA in Psychology with a Minor in English Literature from the University of Maryland. At Texas State University, I completed my graduate work in Elementary Education with a Reading Specialization, Grades 1-8. I have had the fortunate opportunity to teach Third and Fourth Grade in LISD for 10 years. I received my New Jersey Writing Trainer Certification through LISD providing me with the opportunity to publish my own writing and teach other teachers as well. By sharing my love of literature and writing, I hope to spark a permanent passion for reading and writing for your children as well.
Together we can help "our" students be successful and confident by encouraging maturity, responsibility, and quality work while still allowing them to be children.
I am looking forward to an exciting year. Please feel free to contact me during my conference hour 8:55-9:40 or after school. I welcome open communication regarding your child and encourage a team effort.
