Welcome to our class website! I am very excited to be here at Cypress Elementary!

I have been a teacher since 1986 in Killeen, Austin, Round Rock, and for the past 10 years, in Leander ISD. I have a Bachelors degree from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. I also have a Masters degree in Educational Administration from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. I will be teaching writing, math, the accelerated math class, and science. Mrs. Springfield is my partner teacher and she will be teaching writing, reading and social studies.

I plan to use hands-on, large and small group instruction in math. Problem-solving, measurement, fractions, decimals, multiplication, and division are just a few skills we will cover this year. Look for fun experiments and investigations as we study physical, earth, and life science concepts.

Along with the general curriculum, I am looking forward to instructing your children in the integration of technology as an educational resource across the curriculum. My goal for your child is that he or she will become knowledgeable and comfortable while using the computer and its applications, and will have the ability to self-select what would work best with the content they are trying to obtain/convey.
