Welcome to Westside QUEST!
What is QUEST?
The LISD QUEST program is set up as an enrichment to classroom learning. In the QUEST classroom, students learn and use tools that help them research ideas and topics. They will explore the Creative Thinking skills of Fluency, Flexibility, Orginality, and Elaboration in their projects. They will also learn how to use the Critical Thinking skills from Bloom's Taxonomy in their daily life.

Although QUEST in not an academic program, it is an interdisciplinary program. High intellectual ability (95%ile or above) is required for participation.

How are students placed in QUEST?
All students new to the district are screened for QUEST at the beginning of the year.

Every Kindergarten student is screened in the second semester.

Students at grades K-12 may be nominated for this gifted and talented program at any time by district personnel, parents, self, peers, or others. The person nominating a student should complete a referral form. These referral forms are available from the QUEST resource teacher.

Identification is an on-going, multi-step process.

When do students attend QUEST classes?
Students attend QUEST for half-hour blocks Monday - Thursday. They will be pulled from their regular classes during either Language Arts or Flex time.
