Dear Parents,

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Laura Reed and I am going to be your child’s First Grade teacher. I am excited to be a part of your child’s education and hope to make this transition into First Grade as easy as possible for you and your child.

I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education with a Reading Specialization from Texas State University. I am certified to teach grades 1- 8. After graduating from college, I married my husband, Ryan, and moved to Lubbock, Texas. I taught both Second and Third Grade for Lubbock I.S.D.

During my third year of teaching, I decided to take a career break and stay home with our first child. Soon after the birth of our first daughter we moved to Austin, Texas. We chose to buy a house in Cedar Park based on the wonderful reputation of Leander I.S.D. We had another daughter to complete our family and I spent 11 years being a stay at home mom. Our oldest daughter is in Seventh Grade at Cedar Park Middle School and our youngest daughter is in Fourth Grade right here at Naumann.

Last year I had the opportunity to join the First Grade team. I realized that my passion for teaching is a part of who I am and I am glad that I will spend my fifth year of teaching with your child.

I look forward to an exciting and productive year with you and your child. I hope to instill the love of learning in each child.
