Hi, My name is Liz Murray. I am a second grade teacher at River Place Elementary. I am a graduate of the University of Texas. I graduated with a degree in Business and a minor in Government. After I graduated for the first time, I returned to get a post-baccalaureate degree in Education. I love teaching and children. I have two dogs, Chihuahuas, Chloe and Gizmo. I love to cook, hang out with my friends and my dogs, listen to music, read, and watch old movies.

The children will receive a tardy slip if they arrive at school any later than 7:45 AM.

The children have a snack time at 9:30. Because second grade eats so late in the day, at 12:05, "snack time" is really important.

Birthdays!
Birthday food cannot be served in the cafeteria this year. If you want to bring our class a snack for your child's birthday, make sure to let me know in advance. We will try to serve the snack at recess or at the end of the day.

Homework
Homework does not have to be completed daily. I understand that many families have sports and extracurricular activities after school during the week. So, please just make sure that your child has their homework completely finished and turned in by Friday.

My goal for this year is to ensure that every child has a successful and rewarding experience in the Second Grade. I want to assist the children in my class further their knowledge base and improve their reading and communication skills.
