I earned my degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1988. It is a double major, Elementary Education and Spanish. I have been teaching for twenty years. Mostly, I have taught first grade, but have also taught fifth grade, kindergarten and preschool.

My family has lived in the Austin area for ten years. I have been married for twenty-four years to my husband Matt. We have three children. Kyle is 18 and attends Baylor University. Malynda is 14 and is a freshman at Vista Ridge. Lacie is 12 and attends Wiley Middle School. Our children are very active in extracurricular activies. We are also active at our church.

My greatest asset in the classroom is patience. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy gardening, exercising, and home improvement. My favorite thing about teaching first grade is seeing them become "real" readers and writers for the first time!
