Classroom Expectations
My primary goal is to ensure that each individual has the opportunity to learn. In order that each student’s right to learn is respected, the students of each class period will follow these expectations:
1. Each student will retrieve his/her green folder from the classroom krate and be seated and ready to work when the bell rings.
2. Each student will bring paper, pen, pencil, notebook, and “ALL” needed materials to class every day.
3. Pencils will be sharpened before class begins.
4. Each student will keep his/ her hands, feet, books and objects to oneself.
5. Students will not swear, make rude gestures, cruelly tease or put-down any one in the classroom.
6. Each student will be respectful and listen to directions the first time they are given.
7. A student will never put his/her head on the desk; if he/she is sick, let me know.
8. No food, drink (excluding bottled water), candy, hats cell phones in the classroom.
9. Each student will follow all school policies and regulations.
Courtesy:
Do not interrupt or distract others when they are speaking or working. Practice social graces: Say “excuse me,” “please,” and “thank you.” I will dismiss you at the end of the period. If someone is still speaking when the bell rings, wait until he/she finishes. You will not be late to the next class. It is rude to pack up and leave when a speaker is still addressing you.
Take Responsibility:
Refer to the daily agenda on the board. Do your own work. Please be aware that I will not tolerate cheating, plagiarism, disrespect or defiance. (refer to the CPHS handbook on cheating/academic dishonest policy).
For students who choose to violate the above expectations, one or more of the following consequences will be applied at the teacher’s discretion.
1. Verbal Warning
2. Parent communication
3. Office referral
