This year’s behavior plan is structured to consistently reward positive behavior and constructively acknowledge, re-direct and/or problem solve to change other behaviors. My goal is to prompt students to be conscious of their behavior and it's effect on themselves and others. I hope to teach and encourage behavior that is respectful and beneficial to the student and others, in accordance with the Leander Independent School District’s Ten Ethical Principles. Listed below are the components of the plan.

· Social Contract: During the first week of school the students and I will create a social contract. This contract will outline specific behaviors that we think are important to be successful in school both academically and socially.
· I will use a color system to manage my classroom. Each child has a clothespin with his or her number on it. Each child will begin on green. During the day, every child has the choice to move up in color or to move down in color. If the child makes good choices, is kind to others, and follows the classroom rules, he or she could move up one color to purple or up two colors to blue. Blue is the highest color a student can achieve. On the other hand, if the child abuses one of the classroom rules, he or she might move down one color to yellow or two colors to red. The corresponding action for each color change is listed below.

Blue: OUTSTANDING! MARVELOUS! EXCELLENT!

Purple: Great!

Green: Satisfactory

Yellow: 5 minutes of recess

Red: 10 minutes of recess and note home to parents

Each student will have a monthly conduct calendar that will remain in his or her take home folder. I will mark the appropriate color for your child at the end of each day. If your child had to move his or her color down, I will try and list the rule your child broke. I encourage you to review your child’s conduct daily.
