The Credit Recovery Program is designed to provide an alternative means for third and fourth year students to recover lost credits in the four core subject areas: science, math, English, and social studies. In the past two years, students in the credit recovery program have recaptured over 1300 previously lost semester credits. Students who enter credit recovery must be highly motivated, able to work independently, and show appropriate behavior at all times. Credit Recovery is open most days from 7:30 AM until 5:00 PM. Students scheduled into credit recovery as part of the academic day are expected to complete a semesters worth or work every nine weeks. Students who attend credit recovery before or after school should complete a semesters worth of work every 3 weeks. Disruptive students, those with poor attendance, or those not making satisfactory academic progress may be removed from the program. Credit recovery is taught by Shirley Burg (22 years experience) and Martin Goodman (23 years experience). Students or parents interested in the credit recovery program should contact the guidance office.
