Hi! My name Mrs. Connely, and this is my tenth year at Whitestone Elementary here in the Leander Independent School District.
I taught Theatre Arts here at Whitestone for five years, but five years ago, I switched to teaching art. I love both art and theatre and have enjoyed teaching each subject.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself! I grew up in Pineville, Louisiana, and graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, specializing in Theatre and Art. I then attended the University of South Dakota, earning a Master of Fine Arts in Directing. After a year of living abroad in Ireland and England, I moved back to the States and worked in professional theatre. Eventually, I ended up here in Leander.
I love to travel, so expect to hear all about my summer adventures when you get to the Art room. One year, I went to the Black Hills of South Dakota and to the emerald country of Ireland. During the summer of 2004, I got to visit the beautiful state of HAWAII !! Summer 2005, I visited the home of rock n' roll legend Elvis Presley in Memphis, Tennessee. In the summer of 2006, I traveled to our most northern state, Alaska! Summer 2007, I went back to Hawaii for 2 wonderful weeks. My husband had never been to our 50th state, so I enjoyed sharing that experience with him. Our latest travels took up to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios for amusement park fun over the Thanksgiving break. Where to next? The Caribbean!
