Behavior Plan
I am delighted that your child is in my class this year! I have developed a classroom behavior management plan, which is individualized and consistent for each child. My guidance strategies will be directed toward teaching the child acceptable behavior and self-control.
In the students homework folder will be their behavior chart that will be filled out by your child daily. Students will use this chart to assess their behavior in five different categories including consideration, assertion, responsibility, empathy and self-control. These five categories were chosen from the five essential skills for every child as stated by the research based “Responsive classroom approach.” After students assess themselves, I have a short conference with the student (if needed) and If my assessment of their behavior differs from what they rated themselves as, I will write a note to you in their folder. This is a communication tool so you will be asked to look at this EVERYDAY, initial it and send it back to school the next day.

CLASSROOM BEHAVIOR CHART:
Green: I showed this skill for most of the day
Yellow-I showed this skill some of the day
Red-I did not show this skill most of the day
