Birthday Calendar
Please see the schedule of Birthday's on the classroom calendar tab of this website. If your child has a summer birthday, I have put their celebration on their half birthday.If your child's birthday falls on a weekend or or holiday break, I have moved their celebration to the closest weekend so we are able to celebrate all the birthdays.
Birthday Celebration (in the classroom)
We will celebrate birthdays as a class after calendar time at 8:15. In the birthday celebration, we will all sit in a circle with the "sun" in the middle.The birthday student will hold the "earth" out side of the circle and walk around them. The class will sing the song:
The earth goes round the sun,
The earth goes round the sun,
It takes 12 months to get the job done,
and now (student's name) is (student's age)
After we sing this song, students will be able to share one year of the timeline they created with their parents. These timelines can be on a poster board or even lose pictures. With each picture, you are encouraged to write one sentence about your child at that age. After each lap around the sun, another picture and sentence will be shared until the student reaches the age they are turning that day.
Birthday Treats (after lunch)
Birthday treats may be handed out at 11:25. This is right after lunch but before recess. The students will sit on the curb outside the cafeteria and enjoy the birthday treat you have provided. We do have peanut allergies in our class so please be aware when purchasing your treat.
