Frau Nilay Woodbury
Hi,
I am Nilay Woodbury, the German teacher at Leander H.S. This is my third year at Leander ISD. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems from San Diego State University. I then received my teaching credential from San Diego State University as well. I teach all levels of German, including German AP and IB.

The main goal for German is to be able to read, write and speak German. Since German is a cumulative subject, students are expected to spend time on studying assigned vocabulary. Students are also encouraged to keep their binders acquired in the first year for the second year. German is part of the International Baccalaureate Program at Leander High School.

German I
German I students will be introduced to the German language and culture. By the end of their first course in German, students will be able to speak, read and write in German. They will be able to talk about clothing, food and travel.
German II
In German II students will continue improving their already acquired skills. They will be introduced to past tense and simple future tenses. By the end of the course, students will be efficient in speaking, reading and writing in German. They will use German grammar efficiently and be able to express themselves clearly.
German III
In German III students will continue improving their speaking skills. They will learn how to discuss various topics in German and include past tenses and future tenses into their speech rythm. By the end of this course students will be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in German.
German AP and German IB
In German AP and IB students will be prepared to pass the AP / IB exam. They will speak German effectively and fluently. Students will write on various topics and will be more than proficient in speaking, writing, and reading German.
