Hi, I am Tricia Jackson and I will be teaching Language Arts and Social Studies this year.
I graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Education, a minor in English and specializations in Reading and Writing. Last year I taught 3rd grade at Naumann and have previous experience teaching 4th and 6th grade Language Arts.

My goals as a teacher are to help each child develop academically, socially and personally. I strive to create a warm, positive atmosphere where students are expected to do their best. In our classroom students will feel comfortable sharing ideas, taking risks and learning from their mistakes.

I feel it is my job to help each child develop a love of learning and reach their full potential. In order to do this I attempt to make learning fun and meaningful by using a variety of teaching strategies and activities to meet the needs of each child. I also believe in creating a cooperative classroom where we can learn and grow together by respecting each other and valuing our abilities.

When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband Pat and my two teens Jessica and Samuel. I also like playing soccer, hiking, reading, and going to movies.

I am excited about working with your child this year and hope we can create a team effort to help your child succeed.
