Tech Application
Independent Study: CPHS Technology Support

Read and fill out the form below.

CPHS Technology Support is primarily responsible for helping the entire campus with the installation and maintenance of all software and hardware. Students will gain valuable technological knowledge while experiencing a functioning support department role.

Students do NOT need to have any technological skills or knowledge – those abilities will be taught. The primary characteristics desired in an applicant are trustworthiness, responsibility, hard working, and the ability to be self-directed.

Tech Aides spend much time working unsupervised at various locations throughout the campus. Besides working directly on the hardware, aides also assist both students and staff with technological problems and training. Documentation and communication are vital aspects of their daily routine.

The year-long course does count as a technology credit. Students can take the class more than once if their schedule permits.

Student applicants are ranked according to an evaluation process, which includes present core-curricular teacher evaluations (30%), GPA (30%), attendance and disciplinary records (30%), and a one-on-one interview (10%). Interviews occur during the last six weeks of the current school year. Tech aides who are returning for another year are ranked in the same manner, but receive an evaluation of their performance instead of an interview and also receive an additional 10% score for their “work experience”.

Only one Tech Aide is accepted for a period and only three per day – so only the top six qualifying applicants are accepted.

If you are interested, we’d be glad to have you become a member of our team.
