I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and express how happy I am to be a part of Block House Creek Elementary. My name is Shana Garrett. I graduated in 2002 from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a specialization in reading. I've taught fourth grade for four years at Blockhouse Creek Elementary and a year in second grade at Pleasant Hill Elementary. I am a native Texan and live in Cedar Park with my husband and three beautiful children. My husband Jeff works for U.S. Foods in Austin and absolutely loves his job.Our son, Brandon, is a junior at Vista Ridge High School and hopes to attend the Texas Culinary Academy upon graduation. Our son, Dylan, is in fourth grade here at BHC and is so happy that I will be at school with him. Kaylee is our four-year-old daughter and as she proves to be quite a handful, we all love and appreciate the joy she has brought our family.
A good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort among parent, child, and teacher. I look forward to the work and growth we will all accomplish this year. My expectations for conduct and academic standards are high. With your participation, both in and out of the classroom, we can look forward to a productive, creative, and enjoyable year together.
