Hello, my name is Suzanne Riek. I am the Department Chair for LHS Social Studies Department. I am the 10th grade team leader for "Team L". I have taught school for 29 years, beginning in Houston ISD,then Cypress Fairbanks ISD, and, for the past 12 years in Leander. Presently, I teach AP World History, a global curriculum designed to examine our interdependent and interconnected world. This course gives high school students exposure to college level material through involvement in an AP course and gives them the option to show what they have learned by taking an AP exam at the end of the year. Colleges and universities are then able to grant college credit, placement, or both to these students depending on the core on the exam.
