The Grade by Assignment screen is where you can enter a student’s original grade, retake grades, add points to a grade, give an override grade, designate late assignments, and whether this grade can be dropped. You can also add a note and check Print Note so that it will show on the parent connect portal. |

Q: How can I excuse a student from an assignment with out it averaging a “0” in to the final grade?
1. Msg identifies a missing assignment and is entered by pressing the ‘M’ key. It calculates as a zero.
2. An ‘r’ alongside a grade indicates one that was given as the result of a skill/assignment re-taught or re-tested. It can be added to any grade by typing an ‘r’ following the grade.
3. EXC indicates an exempt or excused assignment and can be entered by typing in an ‘E.’ The grade cell is ignored in the calculation to determine the current average.
4. N/G is a ‘no grade’ for that assignment for the student. The Inc is an incomplete for that assignment for the student. (These may be entered in the assignment column in the grade book as well.)
