Technology Quick Help Reminders

1. How to Login:

• Your username is: firstname_lastname. (ie: amy_bray)
• Your password is the same as it was last year.
• Students will log in the same way using their names.

i. K-3 will use “go” as the password

ii. 4-5 will use their id number as their password.

* Student id numbers can be found by logging into the Gradespeed or attendance program.

• To change your password:

i. Type in your name and password at the login screen.

ii. Click on “change password”

iii. Please email your campus tech if you forget your password.

2. How to access email. (Also known as webmail or Groupwise.)

• You can access your email from home! Open Internet Explorer or any web browser and type in the following: http://webmail.leanderisd.org/
• On your campus, you will have a shortcut on the favorite’s bar.
• Your username to login is: firstname_lastname. Initially, your password will be “password” if you are new to LISD.
• If you were a LISD employee last year, your password will be the same as last year.
• Your email address is: firstname.lastname@leanderisd.org

3. Attendance:

• Returning teachers: you may NOT have the same 3 digit number as last year. You may need to check with your registrar if you are unsure.
• Passwords are reset every year to the default password which is “water”.

1. The link to access the attendance page can be found on your favorite’s bar at your campus.

2. User ID: DLNXX###

3. XX designates campus

4. ### personal 3-digit teacher number-Check with your registrar for his number.

5. District #: 246913

6. Enter your attendance under 2nd period, which is your homeroom.

7. Once you have successfully posted the attendance, you will not be able to change any data.

8. If you believe an absence has been posted in error, please contact your registrar.

9. After 90 days of use, your password will expire, and you will need to create a new one, or you may wish to change your password. If your password has expired, a screen message indicates that you need to enter a new password.

10. Use the Change Password link when you need to change your password. You will be prompted to change your password when it is close to the expiration.

11. If you forget your password, please contact a technology facilitator.

12. No activity for 60 minutes will automatically end a session. Activity includes using the save, find or submit buttons.

13. ALWAYS be sure to LOG OFF the Attendance program

4. Where to save my documents:

• To ensure that your documents get backed up every night, please save all documents to the folder on your desktop with your name.
• We recommend that you do not save anything on your desktop. If your computer has problems, you will lose your documents if you save to your desktop!

6. Your Campus Webpage:

If you have moved from another campus, your webpage will be changed to your new campus without losing your content.

• Returning teachers: Your password has not changed from last year!
• Link: http://classroom.leanderisd.org
• Username: firstname.lastname. password: “password” (You can change this password.)
• You URL for parents to access your webpage: http://classroom.leanderisd.org/webs/firstname.lastname/

7. Gradespeed

· Once the student names are imported into the database, you will be able to set your categories, enter grades, etc…

· The registrar or technology facilitator will notify you when Gradespeed is ready.

· If you need a refresher on gradespeed, please one of your techology facilitatorsq know.

· The Teacher Id is the 3-digit control number. This may be different from last year's number, but should be the same as in the attendance login.

· There is no starting password for everyone. Leave the password field blank and it will prompt to set a password on the first login.

8. Basic Troubleshooting:

· Restart Your computer

· If you are in an application that freezes, press “OPTION+APPLE+ESC” keys and force quit the application. Restart the application. OS X users can choose Apple and then Force Quit from the finder menu bar to force quit an application.

· Check that all cords and cables are connected securely. We recommend that you unplug everything and then plug everything back in!!!

· If a webpage will not load or you can’t access your email, check with your neighbor to see if they are able to access the Internet.

· A little known fact: Webmail tends to open/run very slowly!
