    Terri Carnes

My name is Terri Carnes and I moved to Texas from Corvallis, Oregon two years ago.
I am very excited to be teaching Spanish at Vista Ridge High School!!
Teaching Spanish is my passion and I am beginning my 28th year as a Spanish teacher.

I did graduate from Baylor University and taught Spanish and French in Waco at Vanguard High School for three years. Then I moved to Richmond, Virginia to pursue my Master's Degree in Education specializing in Spanish and French. While studying at the University of Richmond, I met my husband. We have been married for 30 years and we have two daughters: Kristin who is a CPA in Austin and Brittany who is a Human Resource Staffing Person in Houston. In January of 2008, we welcomed our first grandson, Tyler. I spent my summer vacation babysitting him!

My husband and I spent five years in The Philippines where both of our daughters were born. We then moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia where I taught Spanish and French at Great Bridge High School for 4 years. Finally, we moved to Corvallis, Oregon where we lived for 16 years and where I taught all levels of Spanish and beginning French.

We are excited to be in Texas where we plan to stay for a long time!

My other passion is travel and I have spent a large portion of my life living overseas. For example, I attended kindergarten in San Jose, Costa Rica; I studied through the 10th grade at Santiago College in Santiago, Chile; I studied one summer in Spain; I studied one summer in France; and I have traveled to almost all of the countries in Central and South America. My family and I have traveled throughout Southeast Asia and Europe as well. I will be sharing a lot of these experiences in my Spanish classes.

¡Vamos a divertirnos en la clase de espaňol!
