Salut! Welcome to high school French! My name is Tina Dong and this year I will be teaching French I, French II, French III pre-AP, French IV AP, and French V AP. Knowing a foreign language is an incredible way to empower yourself by being able to communicate with more people. I strongly believe that learning a second language can be extremely beneficial for any individual. It can open many doors to new opportunities and also helps foster an appreciation for diversity, which is a necessity in our growing global community!

In my classroom, students work towards becoming proficient in the target language by engaging themselves in real-life activities that encourage them to participate, thus advancing their speaking and listening skills. Reading and writing are also a critical part of second language learning. Culture too plays a huge role in learning another language because the practices and the products of the people studied are an equally critical part of language exploration. But overall, the two most important things any foreign language student should do is speak and listen to the target language as much as possible!

I am excited to be on this journey and look forward to seeing what we can all accomplish together!
