Hello! My name is Tina Ritzema and I am a second grade teacher at River Place Elementary. I began my teaching career with LISD in 2002. Prior to teaching, I spent 20 years in Marketing and Communications roles in the technology industry. My husband and I have lived many places in the U.S. and Europe. This experience led to my "retirement" from technology to pursue my lifelong dream -- becoming an Elementary Teacher.
Over the years, I've learned many things. The most important is that learning never ends and learning should always be fun! While our classroom is very structured when it needs to be, we also have a great deal of fun when it's appropriate! We do this with hands on activities and group learning.
