I graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in chemistry in 1986. I earned by teaching certification at Southwest Texas State University and began teaching chemistry at the high school level in 1989. I loved the job, but my children needed mom at home, so I took a few years off from 1995 until 2001. When I returned to the classroom I decided to go to fifth grade, and I've been here ever since. I love teaching 10- and 11-year-olds. Watching their faces light up when the "get it" is a great feeling. I completed my Masters in Elementary Education at Texas State University - a goal I had had for several years in December 2006. Coming to Naumann in 2004 has been a highlight of my career. The "family" here is unlike any other.

When I'm not working on stuff for school, you can find me at a cross country meet watching my son and one of my daughters run (for Cedar Park High School and Cedar Park Middle School, respectively) or at a basketball game for my other daughter. If I ever get any spare time (maybe in the distant future) I plan to start weaving and sewing again.
