    Ms. Victoria Rosenwald
Our children are our future!
Pre-AP Chemistry
During the first semester we learn about the periodic table, atomic structure, chemical bonding, and chemical reactions. In the second semester we start working on measurement and chemical quantities (mainly moles), acids and bases, and solutions. Though first semester does have some math involved, the second semester involves quite a bit more math (you will need a scientific calculator for this class). With enough effort, students should be successful in chemistry and on the TAKS test!
Physics
First semester we work on one-dimensional and two-dimensional motion, vectors, forces, and momentum. In second semester we will learn about work and energy, heat, waves, optics, and electricity. Physics is a hands on class with a lot of lab time, but there is also a lot of math involved all year. Students need a scientific or a graphing calculator for the class (look for an EE or an EXP button). Students should expect to work hard in physics because it is a challenging course. We will also be working all year on the principles of science covered in the TAKS test. As long as they put forth the effort, I expect students to be successful in both the course and on the TAKS test.
About me...
My name is Vicki Rosenwald and I am very happy to be starting my fourth year at LHS. This year I will be teaching pre-AP Chemistry and Physics I. I earned a Master's degree in education from Eastern Oregon University and a BA in Anthropology and Chemistry from University of Washington in 2003. I was raised in Washington state and have recently relocated to the Austin area. I love to teach and am very excited to meet my students and get the year started! In my free time, I love to backpack, play sports (especially soccer!), listen to bands, and explore new places!
