    Academic Decathlon

Academic Decathlon Overview
The Academic Decathlon team competes in ten events with other schools within the region with opportunities to advance to state and national levels where scholarships are awarded for top scorers, both team and individual.

In addition, since the Academic Decathlon is a nationally-recognized competition, participants have a wonderful item to add to their resumes when completing college and scholarship applications.

Competition Format
Each team is comprised of nine members of any grade level (three students whose GPA falls in the “C” or Varsity category, three students in the “B” or Scholastic category, and three students in the “A” or Honors category). Each team member competes in each of ten events. While nine students compete, the final team score consists of the sum of the scores of the top two varsity, scholastic, and honors students. A perfect team score is 60,000 points (6 students x 10 events x 1000 points possible per event).
