The Ranger varsity boys started the year at the Bart Granger Invitational with a solid start to the 2008-09 season. The Bart Granger is the largest high school tourney in the US with a field of 52 teams. The field included teams from Arizona, and Florida as well as the top teams in Texas.
The Rangers fired rounds of 312-300-304 to finish in 15th place in the field of 52 teams.
C. Cobian led the team with a 3 round total of 223(77-71-75), followed by George Barber with a 225(76-75-74).

The Ranger JV boys won the Georgetown Invitational, firing a 316 in the process.
B. Stasiunas won medalist honors with a round of 74. R. Fox finished 2nd with a round of 76.

E. Allen fired a 1 over par 73, and C. Wing followed with a 74 to lead the JV Rangers to a 2nd place finish at Forest Creek GC. Allen and Wing finished in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
