Ms. Blankenship is in her 15th year with the Leander High School Social Studies Department. She currently teaches IB History of the Americas II, IB Psychology I and IB Psychology II.
A graduate of Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University), Ms. Blankenship holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Sociology and a Master of Arts in History. During the summer of 2005 she began work on her doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin.
In May 2005 she was named a regional finalist for the HEB Excellence in Education Award.
She is a believer in hands-on and cooperative learning and incorporates these types of activities into her classes. In addition, students in her classes receive extensive training in technology literacy and she piloted a wireless Laptop Lab as part of an internal technology grant to the Social Studies Department during the 2003-2004 school year. |
